Established in 2011, the KC Temple Run is an annual 5K run made successful by its more than 9000 participants. Truck loads of food, and thousands of hygiene and cleaning items have been donated by KC Temple Run attendees to various local charitable organizations including Hillcrest Hope (2016) and Inasmuch Ministries (2015). Members of the community look forward to this free event each spring. Running clubs, families of all ages, or simply those wanting to make a healthy choice and support a local charity find the KC Temple run to be a wonderful experience.
This year, the KC Temple Run is partnering with JVS, a Kansas City non-profit organization, and Kobe Hagen a Boy Scout working towards his Eagle rank, to collect needed items for local refugees. Additionally, KC Temple Run participants are invited to meet Dr. Sofia Khan, a local refugee advocate, and Daniel Sorenson, a defensive back for the KC Chiefs, before the race! Mark your calendar for May 6th and register today for this exciting and worthy community 5K run.
